Florida Trip Days 8 & 9, East Point, FL – Campground Review

We slept late on day eight and by the time we ate breakfast, thunderstorms moved in so we spent the day relaxing and doing a little coach reorganizing.  We ate no meals out and for supper we had pan fried burgers on the hot dog buns that we had on hand so I just shaped the meat to fit them.

They worked fine but were harder to keep together than a burger bun.

A contrast in RVing options.

Our last day in East Point was cloudy with some rain but the girls still wanted to hit a few shops so I puttered around the coach and got ready for the next day’s journey.

The main reason we came to Coastline RV Resort is that we had money on account due to last year’s Covid-19 cancellation but I always enjoy the area.  They have a campground just down the road and the RV resort which is where we stayed.  The resort has 30 sites in six rows going away from the water and US-98 and we were in the first row, site 2.

While we enjoyed the view from the patio, it was a back-in so our windshield faced the wrong direction for a great view and there was a lot of road noise.  If we come back, we will request site 15 which is in row three (less road noise) and faces the right direction with no water viewing obstructions.

The resort has gravel roads and site parking and each site has a large paver brick patio with a table and a grill plus grass. They have a nice looking pool, and excellent, well equipped clubhouse.  We did not use the showers or laundry.

There is also Poppi D's Florida Grill & Pies down at the campground where we got a pretty bad pizza our first night.

The staff was friendly and helpful and check-in was very efficient.  The wi-fi was one of the best we’ve had and the cable TV worked well with lots of channels.  All of the utilities worked as expected and they were conveniently located.

The resort is located about three miles east of the center of Eastpoint and the daily rate is $65/nite and our weekly rate was $390 for seven nights.  While there are several campgrounds from Carrabelle to Mexico Beach, this is the nicest one we saw and even with gravel roads, they would fit into my "Resort" category.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by Almost Heaven South.
