Our RV club has been the Tennessee Travelers Chapter of FMCA (Family Motor Coach Assoc) but this summer we decided to dis-affiliate with FMCA and just be a group of friends who like to travel together. So, our last official chapter event was a Christmas lunch at the Chop House in Knoxville attended by 13 members – here we are around the tree.
The Chop House did a fine job taking care of us and I believe everyone liked their food.
I’m trying (again) to lose some weight so I just had a very good chicken Caesar salad and only ate half of the huge offering.
A few days later, we took the dogs to the groomer in
Madisonville and Bev suggested we have lunch at the Lamp Post Restaurant. From a DDD standpoint, it’s more of a diner
but approaching a dive.
It’s a meat and three kind of place that serves good basic food at a very reasonable price - $9 for each of our meals. Bev had the meatloaf with slaw and macaroni salad.
And I had the country steak with mashed potatoes and white beans.
I look forward to going back for breakfast as I love these kind of places for my favorite meal.
I made up a big batch of posole the other day to use some
pulled pork I’d discovered in the freezer and as you know I like hearty soups
and this one was.
Photos can be slightly enlarged by clicking on them and the blue words are links.
Have a great day
and thanks for stopping by Almost Heaven South.
