While
the kids are visiting, I decided it would be a good time to cook up a bunch of
Hawaiian Pork (my header shot is some of it from the blogger party) while I still have banana leaves and store it in the freezer for
winter. And of course while the smoker
was running, I cooked a brisket and some ribs per a granddaughter request.
As
usual, I cooked the big meat overnight and it was done by the time we were ready
to eat breakfast so Bev said she’d like brisket to which I quickly
agreed. I had split the brisket with a
friend and I kept the fattier deckle end – most folks prefer the leaner flat
muscle. I was in a big hurry and got one blurry shot and not much of a plated presentation - there were 10 folks in line with plates in hand.
We added
scrambled eggs, mango, and toast for a mighty fine meal – the brisket was
delicious.

Hard to get a good shot with 10 hungry folks in line Larry. Sounds like a granddaughter is appreciating all of your good cooking.

Another fantastic looking breakfast....but how can you go wrong with brisket right out of the smoker and some eggs??
ReplyDeleteYou do have the tastiest breakfasts at your home...I bet your brisket was well received.
ReplyDeleteNow that's a breakfast that no one could refuse! Looks great and is making me hungry!

Kinda looks like an alligator head but with a fantastic bark.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great breakfast Larry, even if those eggs are scrambled and not over-easy-runny. :)
ReplyDeleteMy kind of breakfast!
ReplyDeleteAn awesome breakfast that I'm sure your gang loved devouring! I'm back to blogging now and see I have a lot of catching up to do. It sounds like you're having a great time with kids--that is wonderful! ENJOY!
ReplyDeleteGreat breakfast! Meat and fruit really make the breakfast, don't they? Hope you and the kids and grandkids are having a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteYes! What a great breakfast. The Mango on the side totally delightful.
ReplyDeleteMy dad would have thought he died and went to heaven with this breakfast.

Now that's the way to start the day. I just made a pot of refried beans and would love a couple slices of that gorgeous brisket to go along with them. Yummy.
ReplyDeleteA meaty breakfast sounds fantastic. The mango and brisket both look amazing. Happy travels!
ReplyDeleteI just came home two hours ago to find Trevor who had just woken up eating brisket, mashed potatoes and a roll for breakfast. Beats the heck out of Cap'n Crunch!
ReplyDeleteNice smoke ring on your brisket. What did you use for rub? I used 8:3:3:2:1 (black pepper, salt, season salt, garlic powder, oregano) but will probably cut it to 6:3:3:2:1
My mouth is watering looking at that brisket, Larry! You know how to do breakfast in a big way there :)
ReplyDeleteWoah now that's one heck of a brisket! I love how you also served this nice one!
