Your Basic, Delicious Summertime Meal For Card Night

Bev and I made a trip down to the Englewood Mennonite Market this week and picked up several goodies and decided to turn some of them into a nice summer meal for our Friday group.  Nearly the entire meal came from the market and it consisted of:

Malibu stringless pole beans cooked our normal way

Cucumber salad made with cucumbers, sweet onion, and tomatoes and using the recipe from “Once Upon A Chef.”

Boiled new potatoes.

Sliced tomatoes.

This is my plate.

And to top it off, Cindy made a Strawberry Blueberry Pie (no rhubarb available in these parts).

The Verdict:

Everything was delicious and our guests raved about the meal.

Photos can be enlarged by clicking on them and the blue words are links.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by Almost Heaven South.

  2. Hi Larry, We love shopping at the Mennonite markets! Those greens...beans and cucumbers look great...if I could only eat them but the meds say no. Those potatoes and tomatoes are on my menu though! You are lucky that Cindy has such skill re: baking pies! It is gorgeous... Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
