The Patio Italian Restaurant

Once again this year, I gave our friend, Kathy, some free lunches as her Christmas present and this was our first chance to do one.  We opted to go to the Patio Italian Restaurant in Madisonville, Tn and we always try to go when it won’t be crowded.  The last time in Feb 2024, we went around 11:30am and discovered that many others had the same crowd-beating idea so we had to wait for a table but this time we got there about 1:15pm and had our choice of many empty tables.

Can you believe it was Feb 6, a short while ago the high temps were in the 30’s, but this day several folks were eating on the patio in the balmy mid-60’s temp.

For my lunch, I just had your basic spaghetti and meatballs and a small house salad so I could eat half for lunch and the leftover half for supper.  My spaghetti and marinara cost $9.00 and the three big meatballs were only $3.50 additional.

I thought the marinara and meatballs were both good but since they are both such a personal choice, I imagine others may say they were the best ever.

Kathy wanted steak tips and a salad so she ended up getting a large house salad topped with a side order of steak tips for $7 + $7.  Look at the amount of meat she got.

The main reason for this post is Bev’s 18” Patio Pizza for $19.  It is described as “Cheese, Beef, Pepperoni, Sausage, Onions, Mushrooms, Green Peppers, Black Olives, Tomatoes, and Feta Cheese.”  With a thin, crispy crust and lots of tasty toppings, she said it may have been the best pizza she has ever had and after only eating two pieces for lunch, she had lots of leftovers, which she loves.

I had a piece for breakfast the next day and thought it was delicious.  I hate pizzas that have a large amount of un-topped crust, like this one, on the outside so I really like that The Patio's has very little.

It’s hard to believe they can serve such large portions of good food for such a reasonable price.  The owner has three area restaurants and they all do that.

Photos can be slightly enlarged by clicking on them and the blue words are links.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by Almost Heaven South.

  1. Those beef tips really look good. I have trouble with spaghetti at a restaurant because I find it pretty bland.

  2. Hi Larry, We've never had pizza at the Patio but we do like thin crust so we need to give it a try...pepperoni and Italian sausage for us...but Laurie would add mushrooms if I'd eat them. I agree...pizzas that are 'all crust' are a real waste of money...fill them to the edge, or at least close to it! As for pricing, it's hard to beat the prices at any of the 3 restaurants. You get a lot for your money too! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
