A Little Fall Boat Ride

Due to several factors, we took our first ride on the pontoon boat last week in hopes of seeing some fall colors along the lake.  Passengers included Cindy and two of her great grandchildren, Michael and Lily, Pat, Bev, and me and of course three dogs.

Unfortunately, we have very few native maple trees around here so most of our color is provided by golden hickories.  The overcast day also muted the tree colors and the first shot is heading out of our cove.

Like many places, there are plenty of new homes being built along the lake.

And the biggest treat of the day was letting Lily and Michael drive the boat.

Even though the colors weren’t much, the ride was still very pleasant.

Photos can be enlarged by clicking on them and the blue words are links.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by Almost Heaven South.

  1. My kids would get so excited when my dad would let them drive the boat. It looks like a fun & beautiful day with your family. Fall trees are the best!

  2. Larry, We noticed that the colors were really varied when we drove into Lenoir City today...although some sunshine would have been nice. We do miss the bunches of maple trees we had when we lived up north...but giving up the snow for hickory trees was a win all around! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
