Windy City Grille, David and Laurie, and Our Coach

Our ole friend, Kathy, has long enjoyed exchanging Christmas gifts with us and not knowing what to get her and not being a shopper, but knowing she likes to eat out, I came up with a solution.  For the past two years, I have been giving her five free lunches at the restaurants of her choice, which she almost never wants to pick, and I get a twofer as I’ve committed to Bev to take her out more often as well.  So, for this meal, we went to Windy City Grille where Kathy and I have both been but Bev had not.  For a variety of reasons we have been having trouble getting together with Kathy this year and I believe this was only lunch number three of five clear up here in late August.

The place is kind of dark inside with lots of tables and a bar across the far end.  It’s somewhat of a sports bar with plenty of TV’s around the walls.  They don’t seem to be a chain and advertise themselves as bringing authentic Chicago flavors to Maryville, TN and their menu includes several of them such as Italian Beef Sandwiches and Chicago Dogs.  They weren’t very busy when we were there on a Tuesday.

The menu is pretty much what you would expect with mostly handheld meals, wings, and lots of appetizers.

Kathy and Beverly about to dig in.

Kathy had the Steak & Queso Wrap

Bev had the Reuben

And I had the Patty Melt

Both Kathy and I thought ours were very good but Bev’s Reuben didn’t have as much flavor as we would have expected.  After eating a few bites of mine, I switched to eating it with a fork to keep the juice from running down my arm toward my elbow.  I thought their fries were also very good as were their homemade chips.

David and Laurie

Our friends David (Big Daddy Dave) and Laurie came over for a late afternoon visit and in looking back thru my blog, it appears we haven’t seen them for three years – hard to believe how time flies.  We just ate a little food, drank a little wine, and caught up with each other’s lives.  I didn’t take any pics but we looked pretty much the same as our last time together.

Our Coach

We have once again decided to sell our motorhome (for sure this time) and we are in the process of getting our stuff out and cleaning it up real good.  We will keep some of the stored items, sell some, and let some go with the coach if a buyer wants them. We are undecided if we will get something else but at this point in our lives, I don’t think I want to.

Photos can be slightly enlarged by clicking on them and the blue words are links.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by Almost Heaven South.
