With
eight grandchildren and supposed no plans for any more, 41 year old daughter,
Wende, threw in a major surprise – guess what, I’m pregnant. And one week ago, tomorrow, 7# Eliza entered the
world about 30 minutes after they got to the hospital – nearly a car front seat
birth.
On
her 5th day, we drove over to Oak Ridge to meet Eliza and see Wende’s
new home. Talk about some major life changes in just a few months –
fortunately, Wende’s mom is there to help out.
While
Eliza slept for our entire visit, we have a few shots to show.
We
now have eight granddaughters and one grandson and I can only assume that our
daughters and DIL’s "X" chromosomes totally dominated the boys "Y"s. Two of the dads, with three girls each, were
military pilots and have espoused the theory that the seat belts that went between
their legs when flying somehow messed with their otherwise stunning virility J
We
look forward to getting to know this new young lady and she is the only grand
that lives less than a seven hour drive away – a little under an hour to Oak
Ridge.

Have
a great day and thanks for stopping by Almost Heaven South.

Congratulations another fine looking baby girl.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! She looks perfect, like a little doll! Lucky you with all the grandkids!! We have one grandson, and no plans for more, and he just moved from Chicago to Phoenix, AZ, so won't get to see him so much anymore... Good that this new one lives closer to you!
ReplyDeleteLarry, Congratulations to you and Bev! Having a grandchild close, especially a young one, will be nice for ya'll! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave and Laurie
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Grandpa. She is gorgeous :-)
ReplyDeleteEliza's Dad was in the Navy, but as a corpsman, not a pilot. There must just be something in the military food or water.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit, the gifts, and the lunch! I know Eliza is going to love being so close to her Grandpop and Meme and maybe going on grand adventures with them!
Congratulations, Larry, Bev and Wende! Little Eliza is beautiful. It's so nice that she's just across the river; you'll get to see her often. My husband's brothers and sister each had 2 daughters and only one son; I told his mother more than once that she needed us to balance her grandchild census.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful baby girl for your family, Larry! Babies are blessings! Enjoy her every moment!
