I've gotten several suggestions about helping the with picture posting and responded to your comments on the previos post. To insert a phot this is what I do (Have done)
1. I click on the insert image icon from the "compose" toolbar on the "new post screen" and a new window opens
2. In the upper left of the new window, it says "Select a file" but it may used to have said "Choose a File" and it used to after a "browse" icon across the top of the window from there but it is gone.
3. Under the "Select a file" are the following"
Upload (in red)
From this blog
From Picasa web album
From your phone
From your webcam
From a URL
Across from the word "upload", it tells what kind of files I can upload.
In the lower left, just as before, it gives me icons for "add selected" and "cancel"
But nowhere does it give me a way to get to my computer files and I can't find the words "choose files" on either window. My workaround has been to upload them to the online Picasa then import them from there, but it's an extra step and I'm now wondering if the issue is because I use Picasa or did I just click on a wrong something at some point.
Any help appreciated. Thanks. Larry

Larry - I think I have the solution. When you are starting a new post and have a blank page, click on the icon for "insert a photo." On the left it will give you the options you list above, but don't use those. Click on the "CHOOSE FILES" button above where you type the text. That will give you the option to search the files stored on your computer. Hope this helps.
ReplyDeleteAlso - I have found that there are more functions available if I use Google Chrome instead of Internet Explorer. GC allows me to upload multiple files at once, IE does not. Weird but true for me. What program do you use to access the internet?
DeleteTricia is right. After clicking on Insert Image on the toolbar when you're putting your post together, use the "Choose Files" button to the right of the options you mention. That brings up another window that takes you to your computer files. All you have to do then is find where they are saved on your computer. Click on the image and it should automatically upload to a screen where you select them when you want to insert them in your post.
ReplyDeleteThe problem is the "choose files" button isn't there.
ReplyDeleteThat's why I was asking about your internet service provider - I had trouble with Internet Explorer. Who do you use to access the internet? Also I can send you a screen print of what my post looks like. Email me at savingdessert@aol.com and I'll reply with my contact information if you want to discuss offline.
ReplyDeleteTricia - I went to my blog via Chrome and got the screen with "choose files" on it. The thing that baffles me is that one day mine worked fine and the next day it didn't. It's nice to know Chrome gives me an alternative. Thanks.
DeleteA couple of other suggestions. Make sure your computer has been updated, or that you are using the latest version of your ISP program. Blogger also has a forum and you could check to see if others are having the same issue. I sometimes post recipes on Tasty Kitchen (Pioneer Woman's recipe site) and can't use Internet Explorer because it won't let me upload a photo to go along with the recipe. I only use Google Chrome as my Internet Service Provider (ISP) when I need to upload photos, posts, etc. I didn't realize there was a problem until my husband did a photo post and uploaded numerous photos all at the same time. I was doing them one at a time because the option wasn't even there to do multiples. I think Internet Explorer causes you to loose functionality. Blah blah blah - sorry if this is no help at all!

ReplyDeleteOK Larry. I got home from work and logged on using Internet Explorer and there was no "choose files" button as you described. Seems to be a problem with that internet service provider. I highly recommend Google Chrome. Good luck - I'll stop bothering you now!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are getting good advise...I hope your blogger friends can help you.
ReplyDeleteWish I could be more helpful!
ReplyDeleteThanks all - I don't use Chome due to a toolbar issue, but it makes the picture posting issue go away.
ReplyDeleteI just posted this very same problem on my blog today! One day the option was there, the next it was gone.
ReplyDeleteI don't know anything about Chrome, but it sounds like I may have to check it out.
Sounds like you are getting some good advice Larry. I love Chrome and refuse to use anything else. Hope you get it solved soon. I feel for you...

Just an FYI, I use Firefox (Mozilla) for my internet browser. I don't know if that makes a difference. So sad you are having these issues!
ReplyDeleteBlogger does seem to work best with Google Chrome (no surprise since Blogger is a Google product). I use Firefox as my preferred browser but sometimes I have quirkiness inserting pictures. If I switch over to Chrome, the problem goes away immediately.
ReplyDeleteBut still I use Firefox most of the time until a problem pops up.
I love chrome as well...
