Claudia,
from What’s Cooking Italian Style Cuisine,
commented on my recent post that they like to have their peppers and sausage
leftovers for breakfast topped with an egg.
When an Italian tells me how to eat Italian food, don’t you know I pay
particular attention, especially when it involves topping something with a fried
egg.
As expected,
it was delicious and all I can say is “Claudia, when you’re right, you’re
right.”
I'm now
responding to your comments and hoping you will stop back by - photos best if
enlarged by clicking on them.
Have a great
day and thanks for stopping by Almost Heaven South.

Thanks Sam - I regret I ran out of pasta before having a second one
DeleteOh my, this is just genius! I would have never thought to do this, bless those Italians.
ReplyDeleteI agree
Deletelol.. I'm surprised you had to be told to put a fried egg on it.. I mean, you are the leftover breakfast king!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking I might just have thought of it.

DeleteLarry, Another breakfast that breaks the mold and expands standard for the sterotypioal breakfast! Let no leftovers go eggless!! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
ReplyDelete"Let no leftovers go eggless!!" I like this - maybe it should be my motto.
DeleteSounds good to me! I've had lasagna for breakfast before so pasta, sausage and eggs for breakfast works for me.
ReplyDeleteLeftover pizza for breakfast is a big favorite around here.
DeleteThis doesn't surprise me. As far as I know, a fried egg works on about anything, and surely on everything you create, my friend!
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam and I think the same about an egg.
DeleteYou really just can't go wrong with a classic like this!
ReplyDeleteThanks Joanne
DeleteWonderful, Italian breakfast tip and great way to use those sausages and peppers! Isn't it wonderful that eggs are actually good for you in moderation? I just read they can help with cataract prevention!
DeleteThanks Susan - Like many things eggs have gone from terrible for you to natures perfect food - I eat them nearly every day because I love them - I have to die from something so it might as well be eggs :-)
DeleteIt totally makes sense because when making pasta carbonara you toss a raw egg in the pasta to create a sauce.
ReplyDeleteIt does Karen, and if I consider eggs in purgatory, it really makes sense.
DeleteThat egg looks perfect - great breakfast!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tricia - I used a ring mold and a lid for sunny-side-up.
DeleteWhat a perfectly delicious way to eat up the leftovers. YUM!
ReplyDeleteAnother awesome way to serve leftovers! I love it.
ReplyDeletePam and Mary - Thanks and I would do this again. - maybe fancied up a little more.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to start the day. This sounds fantastic, Larry. I hope all is well and that you're looking forward to the holiday season.Have a great weekend. Blessings...Mary
ReplyDeleteYum, I would enjoy this any time of day. It's amazing how much a well prepared egg can do for a plate of leftovers.
ReplyDeleteOf course, this is just perfect for you, Larry! It looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI would have that for breakfast any day.
ReplyDeleteLooks great Larry and I would guess that you make the best fried eggs around.
ReplyDeleteMary, Cathy, Marjie, Clile, Penny - For some reason, Bev's IPad has decided I can no longer use it for individual replies, so thanks for all of the nice comments. I can't post from it either.
