I don’t know
what got me thinking about this meal, but maybe the salmon breakfast the other
day coupled with the chub of breakfast sausage I saw in the fridge and the
English muffins I recently bought.
I began by
slicing the pound of sausage into 6 equal rounds and flattening them to about a
4” diameter - I just fried them all while I was at it. After flipping, I topped the sausage with
cheddar cheese so it would be sure to melt.
I had also
toasted an English muffin and cooked an egg in a ring mold, leaving it a little
runny and to assemble I also added some mayo to the muffin top.
It was very
good – maybe even as good as McDonalds J

Actually I could assemble something like this here at the Holiday Inn. They have a complimentary breakfast bar that has everything but the cheese. Something tells me their flabby grey sausage and dried out English Muffin and those odd colored fake looking scrambled eggs just wouldn't live up to McBigDude standards.
ReplyDeleteSure doesn't sound too appealing - I think I'd opt for cereal and fruit or head over to Mickey D's.
DeleteIt was definitely better than McDonald's! Just a good strong cup of coffee and this would be a perfect breakfast.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Velva

ReplyDeleteI'm sure it was a million times better than Mickey D's! Have a good one!
DeleteThanks Kathy - I may leave that shot up a while.
DeleteMary - If not a million times at least some times.
I wouldn't need to eat until dinner after that breakfast! Sure looks great, Larry.
ReplyDeleteWe've been making our own sausage muffins/bisquits (sometimes with cheese and egg) and have been so happy with the results . . . calculating the costs of what we put into them and the SIZE of our homemade ones, we're figuring that it would cost about $4 to $5 bucks each at Mac's! Better to make them at home!!!
ReplyDeleteI could eat these any time of the day too!
I am willing to bet that this was BETTER than the real thing!!
