Tuna Omelet From Leftovers And The Local Bite

While Madison was here, we went to Lakeside Tavern where we have eaten a few times and I had the Ahi Tuna Salad which was greens topped with rare tuna slices and I had most of the salad and three pieces of tuna leftover.  I didn’t get around to eating the salad before it went bad but the tuna was still in fine shape so I decided to have it in a breakfast omelet along with some Tillamook Cheddar.

It was very good but I added the tuna to the eggs too soon which allowed it to cook too much and toughen a little.

A Trip To Loudon, TN

I hate to wait in lines and even avoid the possibility of lines when I can, which is why we like to drive down to Loudon (the county seat) and early vote at the election commission offices.  For this trip, we had zero lines and the voting process took less then 15 minutes but we didn’t want to make the 30 minute drive just to vote so a meal out was in order.  I had recently heard good reviews about a two-year-old place called The Local Bite and we headed there before voting and arrived about 11:45am.

The place was about half full when we got there but only one table had food so we had a little wait for our food which allowed time for any lunchtime crowd at the polls to clear out.

As we watched the food being delivered to other tables, we were amazed at the portion sizes so we knew we would have enough leftovers for supper.

Cindy ordered the Grilled Salmon Bowl which came along with deep-fried Brussels spouts and a rice medley all topped with teriyaki sauce.

Bev had the whole Pat’s Pastrami Melt with Garlic Parmesan Fries – unfortunately my pic focused on the fries so I included a shot from the web.

I wanted protein and ruffage so I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich and a side Caesar Salad.

I didn’t eat the bread and these were my leftovers.

Even though the pastrami was obviously a deli version and had an unusual flavor, we all enjoyed our meals and would definitely eat there again when area.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by Almost Heaven South.
