Cindy had a birthday while Bev was in Florida so we finally were able to take her out to lunch this day and as a seafood lover, we took her to Chesapeake’s Seafood House in West Knoxville. They are one of the Copper Cellar Family of Restaurants, which is a local chain that, in addition to Chesapeake’s, includes Calhoun’s, Copper Cellar, Cappuccino’s, Cherokee Grill, Corner 16, and Smoky Mountain Brewery with locations around the Knoxville area and in Gatlinburg.
We got there about 1:15 pm and the large restaurant was still pretty full but it was about empty when we left.
Here we are ready to go.
We began the meal with some adult beverages and appetizers of Oysters Rockefeller, Oysters Chesapeake, and onion rings – can’t believe I forgot the pics but here is one from the web that shows both kinds of oysters.
I also had a cup of Crab Bisque just to try it and at this point, everything had been excellent.
For our meals, Bev ordered the Fried Oyster Caesar Salad.
Pat had the fried shrimp with a loaded baked potato.
And Cindy and I ordered the Broiled Seafood Platter - hers is first pic above and this is mine.
The Verdict:
Pat thought her shrimp were very good as did Cindy with her
platter. On the other hand, Bev’s
oysters were too salty to eat and they brought her some new ones and while my
platter looked very good, it was only lukewarm and I didn’t care for the
breadcrumbs on top of the fish. The is
the second visit to Chesapeake’s when Bev and I thought the food was just okay
and we are unlikely to go there again for an entrée, but we will definitely go
back and just order the oysters and onion rings – Bev raved about the Oysters
Rockefeller and I liked them both. The service was very good.
Breakfast
I had most of my loaded baked potato leftover so the next
morning, I opened it up, added some chopped sausage and cheese and nuked it
until the cheese was melted. Then topped
with a couple of sunny side-up eggs for a pretty special breakfast.

Have a
great day and thanks for stopping by Almost Heaven South.
