Since Rhett and Beth were only there for three full days, we ate out more than normal and this morning included breakfast at one of our favorites – Hoot’s Breakfast & Lunch.
They have a varied but not giant menu but pretty much something for everyone.
The girls all had a Bellini to drink - peach nectar and sparkling wine.
Pat had a Denver Omelet – description unavailable.
Beth had HUEVOS RANCHEROS - Tortillas, red beans, 2 eggs smothered with salsa, jack & cheddar.
Bev had SOUTHWEST CHEESE BAKE - Open faced omelette - mushrooms, onions, green chiles and salsa, topped with jack & cheddar cheeses.
I had CORNED BEEF HASH - Our own recipe with green peppers and onions, served with 2 eggs, home fries or grits and toast.
and Rhett had COUNTRY FRIED STEAK & EGGS - 2 eggs, toast and hash browns, home fries or grits.
Everyone enjoyed their meals and Rhett said it may have been the best he has ever had - I'll know what to cook for him next time he visits us.
After breakfast, it was a little shopping, napping, and laying around the pool.
You've likely noticed on my blog that you don't see a lot of posts from restaurants as I'm not much of a go-out-to-eat person, preferring to cook at home, so after this breakfast, I was pretty well restauranted-out and the others were as well so we ordered a pizza delivery for supper. We got a Burrata Pizza - Pesto, mozzarella cheese, imported marinated tomatoes, burrata cheese (no pizza sauce) - from Joey's Pizza and Pasta but I wouldn't order it again.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by Almost Heaven
South.
