Another Look At Marco Island, FL

Our good friends and neighbors, Pat and Steve, also own a week at the Charter Club so we try to coordinate our visits.  This year they were there for the first week then Steve drove home and Pat L moved in with my three girls.  I’m not sure this changed their routines much except that Pat L and Cindy played plenty of pickle ball.

They always like to go to Naples to visit the farmers market and Tin City plus eat out for lunch.

Not sure what this man was doing with his birds but they are pretty.

They had planned to eat lunch at Riverwalk Restaurant but after checking out the menu and finding prices such as $18.50 for fish and chips ($24.95 with grouper), $22.95 for fried oysters with fries and slaw, and $18.50 for a grouper sandwich, they decided the restaurant was way way too proud of their food.

For dinner one evening they walked just up the street to Nacho Mama’s where they found more reasonably priced food beginning with Bev’s Smothered Burrito meal which took two plates and cost $15.  She likes to do that with Mexican and eat several meals from one restaurant trip.

Since Cindy loves tuna, not surprisingly, she ordered the tuna tower for $15, which I believe I would have loved.

Pat L had the Grilled Fish Platter for $16.

But they didn’t get a pic of Pat W. chimichanga.  While less expensive than in Naples, this is still much higher than we are used to paying around our parts where at Cielto Lindo for $14, I can get the specialty of the house which contains a tostada, a burrito, a chili relleno, a tamale, an enchilada, and two tacos along with rice and beans plus chips and salsa appetizer.

Of course, there is a little difference in the economies of Vonore, TN and Marco Island, FL. 😊

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by Almost Heaven South.

  1. Larry, Looks like the ladies are having a great time in Florida...eating well too! Food prices are definitely spiking in the grocery stores and in restaurants. I paid $17.95 for Chicken Romano the other day. It's up from $14.95. Steak and beef in general are through the roof! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
