We had been recently talking about pesto and Bev began looking for recipes that
use it and she came up with Pesto Pizza from All Recipes so during a recent Sam’s
club visit, she picked up a jar of Member’s Mark Pesto. We all thought the jarred pesto was very good
but care must be taken as it is a little salty.
The
four of us each built our individual pizzas selecting from the available toppings and beginning with a generous layer of pesto.
Next
I added sliced tomato, onion and artichoke hearts.
Then
it was sweet pepper, black olives, mushrooms, and rotisserie chicken.
The final layers were shredded mozzarella and crumbled feta cheese – now that is a well topped pizza.
I
baked it on a pan in a 450F oven for about five minutes then under the broiler for
another seven minutes and it came out with a crispy bottom crust and hot toppings - slightly crunchy peppers.
We all thought they were very good and once again proved how easy it is to make a great
pizza using Naan bread. As good as mine was, Bev had to finish it off for breakfast the next day.
Photos can be enlarged by clicking on them and the blue
words are links.
Have
a great day and thanks for stopping by Almost Heaven South.

That sure looks like a well dressed pizza. I have seen them in the deli section at our grocery store and thought maybe give them a try, thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteLooks great to me! I love pesto, but I'd be the only one who would eat this. Good eating for sure in my thinking!

WOW..................................HRB..
ReplyDeleteYou've got me craving naan pizza. I'm not a pesto fan, but man that looks good.
ReplyDeleteI often find that store bought spreads are way too salty for me. But, pesto is super easy to make! I love pizza and naan is the perfect base. You added some great toppings - I could eat this for breakfast ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Larry, We've done Naan pizza before and we agree, one can construct a nice pizza using naan with quality ingredients! Your pizza 'construction' could be termed the kitchen sink pizza...everything's in it except the kitchen sink! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
ReplyDeleteHopefully my comment gets through, I've had a hard time with Blogger lately. Your naan pizza looks very good...it is fully loaded. :D
ReplyDeleteI've never tried using naan bread to make pizza but you have me inspired! Looks delicious, Larry!
