Ferrets And Yawnee

In an effort to give the ferrets a place to play and protect the house from them, and them from Coco, Madison bought them a playpen with a plastic bottom.

They sure are full of energy and love to play so I can see why you need more than one as pets.

Friend Joe was here with his Pomeranian and he put her in the cage with them.

The ferrets seemed pleased but Yawnee wanted out, while Coco was running around the cage outside whining to get in.

I'm now responding to your comments and hoping you will stop back by - photos best if enlarged by clicking on them.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by Almost Heaven South.

    1. The funniest part was watching Coco wanting to get into the pen.

  4. I don't think I've ever actually seen a ferret before...but they are adorable!

  5. Jenn, Penny, and Joanne - When I learned we were having them, I thought they were just a long rat, but they are a hoot to watch - like the otters playing on TV - they are friendly and fairly smart.

  6. Poor Yawnee, she did not want to play with those ferrets!

  7. Way back a LONG time ago I had a roommate who had a ferret. Smelly little things but they are extremely playful & loveable.

  8. I missed the addition of the ferrets to the Big Dude household. They'll keep the pups busy, no doubt!

    1. Marjie - They are sure active little critters that Coco sees as playmates and Sweetie just ignores.

  9. Larry, Nice playpen! Those ferrets are so active that you can't blame Yawnee for wanting to head for a safe haven... With everything going on at your house, what about a pen with a recliner in it just for you and your sanity?! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

  12. They must keep you and themselves entertained for hours! My only problem with them is the potty training :)

  13. Our two chinchillas quit wanting out of their large cage once the cat moved into our house. So is she still doing all of the care for them or has that chore shifted to you? Seems like every time a kid gets a pet, the adults end up doing the work, right?
