Greek Pizza

We had some Naan bread in the fridge that Bev wanted to turn into pizza and I’d been wanting something Greek, so Greek pizza it was.  She built the pizza in the following order:

Olive oil
Red and yellow tomatoes
Fresh oregano, rosemary, and thyme
Grated parmesan
Onion and roasted red peppers
Kalamata olives
Jalapenos (had no pepperoncini’s)
I noticed when I wrote this up that we forgot garlic - drat
I preheated the grill then turned off the three middle burners and added the pizzas.  I cooked them like this until the veggies had softened, then added some feta and mozzarella and turned the burners under the pizzas on low to crisp the crust.  I ended up putting them under the toaster oven broiler to finished the cheese melt.
They were very good and took care of my Greek craving – Bev pointed out it was a meatless meal.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by Almost Heaven South.

  1. Don't you just love Naan bread? There's just so many different ways to top it. I've never grilled them before. Great idea.

Your lead picture with all of the different tomatoes is fabulous Larry. You could open a farm stand.

I've been traveling and I missed that delicious rib roast I see below. And salmon cakes as an appetizer? Geez, I wish I lived closer.

  2. I made fish tacos last night and when I looked at the photos this morning realized I forgot to put grated cabbage on them. I'm going to grill pizza one of these days! Our friends Greg and Cauleen had us over last week and I watched him do it. So easy and good.

  4. Those are some nice looking pizzas there! I like the saltiness that the feta and olives bring to it.

  5. I love feta and kalamata olives on pizza. So good with oregano. Try sprinkling a dash of dried oregano on top of your pizza. OMG good!
