I have good family genes for a long life but I as I approach my 80th birthday I finally realize I could overcome the good genes with my bad behavior, especially by being way too heavy. So, I decided to give one of the weight loss drugs a try and my doctor prescribed Zepbound by injection and so far I’m losing four pounds/ week and my clothes are fitting looser. I’m well pleased with how it’s going and I’m never hungry. I eat breakfast around 11am and supper around 6pm and I eat whatever I want but I don’t want near as much of it and if I stopped my fermented grape juice intake, my loss would be even greater.
As you may recall, for Christmas, I gave friends Kathy and Cindy five free lunches and for this day we took Cindy (Kathy out of town) to the local Countryside Restaurant for a catfish fix for Cindy and me.
The catfish meal contains two big filets, 3
small hush puppies and two sides.
Normally I eat one piece of fish and most of the other items but today I
had an epiphany. It dawned on me that
the catfish was as good as it was going to get when served for this meal so I
opted to only eat the fish and stop when I felt full. So for my sides, I ordered double slaw as it
would be just as good leftover. This is
my meal.
As usual, the fish was moist and melt in your mouth tender – the flakes still had a little sheen to them – and I ended up eating both pieces – absolutely delicious.
Bev opted for “Boneless Pork Chops - Center cut pork chops (two)
seasoned and grilled topped with cinnamon apples, served with two sides.”
As with the fish, the chop was cooked perfectly with juice apparent when she sliced it and she enjoyed all of her meal.

Have a
great day and thanks for stopping by Almost Heaven South.

I know so many people that are on some brand of that weight loss shot and everyone seems to do very well on it. My problem is that I don't have to be hungry to eat. I just like food. And like you, the fermented grape juice is most certainly an issue.
ReplyDeleteLooks good. Good luck on th weight loss. Happy Easter to you, Bev, Pat and Cindy
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Larry. Keep up the good work!!! BETSY
ReplyDeleteGood for you, Larry! Glad it's working out for you. The catfish looks perfectly cooked & Bev's fried okra is calling my name.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Larry! That is so wonderful. We need to talk though. I have been on Zepbound for one month now and have lost only 3 pounds. The problem with me that I can only credit this very low amount of weight loss to is the inability to move well my hip is killing me and waiting for the replacement surgery. So I sit and sit and sit. Do you believe that you are getting in more physical movement and activity as a result of your hip replacement? Did your doctor ask you to lose 50 pounds or more before you had the hip replacement surgery? I am very frustrated with the slow pace of this weight loss on Zepbound. But at the same time, much of it is the lack of physical movement on my part due to my pain. If you feel better, please email me with your thoughts. Thank you so much and have a blessed Easter.
ReplyDeleteIf you could loose a few pounds for me too that would be awesome. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWishing you the very best on your weight loss journey. These new drugs make it possible for people to lose weight and feel better. Don't forget your fermented juice and remember to make sure you are taking in enough calories each day or you will start to feel a lot of fatigue.
