We had no planned event for today except taking in the main Sorrento area which for the girls meant doing a little shopping and for me it meant people watching and having a cold one at the restaurant that had just changed hands and names the previous day. It was Bar 22 Pizzeria when we ate there Sunday night and now it is Monnalisa Ristorante.
But it had no impact on my activity as I drank my Peroni draft and enjoyed the musician.
I really enjoyed the people watching and have never seen so many people from different parts of the world. I’d mentioned earlier the size of the lemons so here they are beside an Iphone.
That morning, we just had some leftovers for a light breakfast, so we made a 1:30 lunch reservation at the nearby La Laterna Ristorante. Tables line the small alley leading up to the inside part of the restaurant.
Since this was our main meal of the day, we ate a full meal beginning with bread, sparkling water and a bottle of Ruggeri Prosecco (our norm if you hadn’t noticed).
Then we shared one of the best chicken Caesar salads I’ve had in a while.
For our meals, Bev had lasagna, Wende had the fish of the day (sea bass), and I had tuna tartare over pasta carbonara. It was all good and I really enjoyed mine – cleaned my plate.
After lunch and some shopping, Bev enjoyed one of her favorite activities, even in Italy.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by Almost Heaven

Lovely! I love a good caesar salad and would love to have a great one.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun and tasty day.
ReplyDeleteI would have joined you in the people watching. Thats one of my favorite past times. I truly now know I am not Italian. Wine and cheese. Not for me. But the presentations are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHi Larry, Love the ambiance in Sorrento! I would have also chosen the tuna tartare with pasta! People watching is very entertaining, something both of us love to do. One of Laurie's nephews and his wife are now in Italy for a month. However, we don't have any travel plans until Laurie heads for Scotland with her sisters and a nephew in September. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
ReplyDeleteI think I would want to nap after that lovely meal! People watching with a cold beer in Italy sounds pretty epic, Larry!
