We
got up Monday morning and Bev fixed her version of sausage egg mcmuffin while I
talked with our neighbor about his coach – a 1996 Aerbus made by RexhallIndustries in Lancaster, CA. As it turns out they
are still in business and make the coach in the third shot.
That
afternoon we headed out to visit Two Rivers Winery and Chateau located
in the opposite direction from most of the others. It is the project of a retired couple and
their adult kids and includes a 10 room chateau and event center where they host
weddings, business meetings, etc.
This
is definitely a first class operation and it is reflected in everything from
the parking lot to the sitting area in the tasting room.
They
make eight wines and the first Riesling I’ve liked from the area so I bought a
case. Of the three wineries we visited
we liked there wines best over-all. So
with several cases of wine stowed away, we are ready to move up into the high
country.
The
next day we took care of an item on our GJ must-do list by eating breakfast
outside at the Main Street Café.
Pat specifically wanted to go there for Blueberry pancakes, which I failed to get a shot of but sampled a bite and they were very good. I had the Meggsican burrito (accidently lost the pic) and Bev had the special Philly Cheese Steak Burrito.
Both
burritos were very good – especially Bev’s.
Between the three breakfast places we tried (Main Street, Pufferbelly,
& Randy’s), it would be hard for me to pick a favorite plus Bev’s Sweetie
coach-fe is pretty darn good as well.
After a big breakfast and a little shopping, Frankie joined Pat on the couch.

Have
a great day and thanks for stopping by Almost Heaven South.

Nice to see that Rexhall is still in business.
ReplyDeleteLooks like more fun with food, wine and good company.
Larry, That is a beautiful and classy looking winery in a terrific setting! Wow! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
ReplyDeleteMy brother doesn't live far from that winery and I've always wanted to stop and check it out. Did you get a chance to go to the downtown GJ Farmer's Market Thursday evening? It's always entertaining.
ReplyDeleteWe did go to the FM
DeleteThat winery and chateau look awesome... What a nice 'family' business... Glad you enjoyed their wines. I'm sure they were thrilled to sell you a bunch to take home.
ReplyDeleteAn outside breakfast is NEAT... Things always seem to taste better when I eat outside.... YUM.
Hugs,
Betsy
It must be interesting to compare other coaches to your own, and see what you might have liked better, if anything. I guess your granddaughter has gone back to her parents?
ReplyDeleteWe also really liked that winery. That's where Zia was at the bar wine tasting with Bob .. or at least sitting at the bar. We really liked the family that runs the place, the wine and the gift shop. And now I have two restaurants to try next time I'm in GJ. That burrito looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteAlways wanted to see the Aerbus with the two full wall slides.
