Some More Snow Shots

As the header shot shows the dock is not as inviting as in the 90* summer heat.  Here's a few more snow shots  - remember this is a major snow event for here.  Click on them to enlarge and again if your cursor has a + on it.

Our neighbor on the hill sent me this shot of our place.  It's a little hard to see unless you enlarge, but the house is to the left of the tree and the garden plot is to the right of it.

And here's one back up the hill of his house.

I took a few shots as I walked down to the dock to be sure it was okay.  It was really just an excuse to go out and play in the snow.

And this is Sweetie, the snow dog on the way back up the hill - she loves to play in the snow.

Here's a couple views of Bev's flower garden asleep.

It's hard to imagine how much color will be around in a few months from the snowball and azaleas hiding under the snow.

Sure am glad I didn't have to go anywhere and could just sit by the fire and enjoy the view - Cody's liking it too.

It's amazing how relative everything is.  We thought the major storm that passed thru here dropping 7" of snow was a really big deal, yet they're measuring it in feet in New England and probably faring better than we did.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

  1. Beautiful photos Larry. I love those windows in the last shot. We used to have windows that went to the floor in our old house in Denver.

  2. The weather here has been rather mild in Khowst. We left all of the snow in Bishkek. However, will be headed to Gardiz in in a few days. It is about 4000ft higher in elevation. I hear it is really cold and they have been getting snow. I would rather be sitting by your fire with Cody.

  3. What beautiful pictures! I guess as long as you don't have to go anywhere and you can enjoy from the comforts of your warm house, snow isn't half bad :)

  4. Oh wow, You sure did get a lot of snow! And yes I think the boat dock would be more inviting during the hot weather than now because my clutzy self would find a way to fall in the lake. My folks are on Smith Mountain Lake in VA and we can sit on that boat dock all day long, fish, swim, talk, and of course EAT! Stay warm Larry.

  5. Beautiful snow pictures of your home and the dock, Larry...We did get out today to get some groceries and run some errands. The main roads were good and the back roads were fair.. It was nice to get out though.

    Have a wonderful weekend.

  7. Beautiful pictures, Larry! I can see why the place is called Almost Heaven . . . and your home is beautiful. I love how snow transforms the landscape and all that color sleeps under it for the season. Sweetie looks like she's having a blast! That last shot is very serene.

  8. Man that is a wonderful shot (first one but all are great)! You guys were really hit with it. Tonight's "snow" was laughable, but I'm sure Krogers and Food City appreciated the business.
