Chicken Fried Steak – It’s What’s For Breakfast

We only planned to eat two meals Saturday, so I thought I could get away with a pretty big breakfast. Remember Friday nights supper and my comment about making extra for leftovers – they were mainly because Bev likes them for breakfast, and so do I. She nuked the meat just enough to get it warm then into the toaster oven to crisp it up. So for her it was just the plain meat, but she added gravy, a couple of moist scrambled eggs, and a toasted English muffin for mine. This may be the first time in my life I've put gravy on scrambled eggs - but it won't be the last.

Wow, breakfast in the South, what a great way to start a beautiful Saturday – cobalt blue skies and a warm day. I spent the rest of the day doing a couple of puttering jobs, and watching the WVU boys win a nail biter over Villanova and the Tennessee girls whip up on Vandy, and prepping for dinner – after a trying week, life is good here at Almost Heaven South.

And I hope life is good for you as well.

Larry

  2. You are killing me with all of this breakfast food! L-O-V-E love it. We took a field trip yesterday across town to a Mexican market. I bought some really thin pork chops for breakfast this morning. Am planning a couple of eggs and some potatoes along side. I might have to make some of that gravy. Great post as always Larry
