A Southern Summer Breakfast

Kathy and the Texas grand kids are visiting and this was an easy meal for a crowd.  I debated about whether to title this post as I did or as "THE Summer Southern Breakfast."  Either way, it was delicious - frozen biscuits (always Pillsbury for us), from-our-garden maters, sliced cheese (one cheddar & one pepper jack), and Wrights bacon (our back-up to Benton’s), and a locally grown cantaloupe.

Photos can be enlarged by clicking on them.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by Almost Heaven South.

  7. What a great way to start a summer day. I've got ripe cherry tomatoes in the garden but my big slicing tomatoes haven't ripened yet.

  9. That's my kind of breakfast! It looks delicious and I'd probably add a fried egg to it. I've never heard of either bacon, bet it's good though and home-grown maters, perfect! Have a great weekend!

  12. I love breakfast sandwiches and this looks really good. I just need to get another tomato from my plants. We've had so much cool weather and rain that they're all pink.

  13. Looks good to me except for the cantaloup. Working with a bad batch of those for weeks on end in a produce department in high school turned me off of cantaloups forever. Just the smell makes my eyes water to this day.

The biscuits are making me crave gravy biscuits.
