Surprise Delicious

First let me say thanks to all of you vets out there and to those still in uniform.  I appreciate what you do for us.

Bev and I discussed several possible meals for dinner, but neither of us wanted to do any serious cooking, so she took the reins and decided on salad and chicken thighs. The chicken was one of the few things I’d cooked for us during this past weekends BBQ session - she just reheated it in the toaster oven. Bev, who likes meat on salad, fixed hers that way, but while I like that on occasion, I’m really more of a keep-them-separate kinda guy. So for me, it was one of her super salads with Greek flavors and the reheated thighs on the side and as simple as it was, it was absolutely delicious, and hours slaving in the kitchen could not have resulted in much better of a meal. It’s amazing how sometimes the unplanned meals, events, trips, get togethers, etc. turn out to be some of the best.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Larry

  1. I love meals like that...lately, I've not been that motivated in the kitchen, simple is "in" right now!

  2. I love unplanned deliciousness like that. Chicken from the fridge is such a treat - it's almost better than fresh off the grill!

  3. Simple is good! Laurie and I kept it simple last night as well. Larry/Big Dude's breakfast sausage browned up in a fry pan, rotini noodles, tomato vodka sauce, sun dried tomatos and a few capers. Toss on some Parmesan-Romano cheese and we were set for Laurie's favorite pasta meal. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
