Marco Island, Florida Arrival

After a short 13 hour and 5 minute drive, we pulled into our Marco Island timeshare at 7:05pm for a little fun in the sun – as if we didn’t get enough this summer. We normally go later in the year, but had set it up this year around granddaughter Alex’s fall school break, in case she was still living with us. It’s nice to be able to say the trip was totally uneventful – except for listening to the first half of the Tenneessee – Georgia football game. Mercifully we got out of radio range in the first half – I believe the local high school team could have made less mistakes - enough of that rant. After we got the luggage carts unloaded and settled a little, Bev shot this pic of the moon, Venus, the sunset, and the beach (dark area at bottom) from the condo balcony.

And here’s the look the next morning as I sat out there typing this up - can now do this with the additon of Wi-fi at the resort.

It's 68 here this morning and 47 at home.  Gotta go, it's time for the morning walk on the beach before it gets too hot.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Larry

  1. We've been going to Marco Island since the early seventies. Meakin's mom retired there. A lot has changed since then.

Have fun and if you go to Naples, we highly recommend the Dock at Crayton Cove for lunch. It's not far from Fifth Avenue and the downtown shops. Great atmosphere overlooking a marina.

  3. I have never been to Marco Island ---but have been to Sanibel. I used to live in Venice (north of Naples). Beautiful beaches down there....

    Have a great time, Larry.

  5. I'm not fond of the drive from Maryville to Florida. Too stinkin' much traffic around Atlanta, and the roads narrow too much south of Atlanta. Ah, listen to me whining, as if I had actually done the driving! Your condo looks really nice; hope you have a great week.

  8. Beautiful. Now you know just one of the many reasons we love it here on the Gulf. :)
