Beef – It’s What’s For Breakfast

We went thru the fridge to use up things before we head off on our annual trek to Marco Island – no since leaving them for the house/ dog sitter - sorry Wende. One of the items needing to be cooked was a steak left over from Rhett’s birthday (see Oct 6). My plan was to grill the steak and have it with eggs, but to my surprise, my weight conscious wife suggested some potatoes would be nice – and I always take care of my woman. She awoke to the aroma of breakfast a cookin.

I diced up a couple of taters and an onion and fried them in olive oil and while they were cooking I grilled the steak on the gasser. Bev likes her steak more done than me and in an effort to get it right for her, I got it all the way to medium, which is a too done for both of us. Fortunately, it was a nice, choice, strip steak, so it was still very good.

Of course the meal wouldn’t be complete without a couple of eggs and I added just a little shredded cheese for pretty.

Steak and eggs - what a way to start our day.  Fortunately, I had a lot of jobs to do and could work off some of it.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by and for your comments.

  1. When I was younger, steak and eggs were always a luxury treat breakfast you ordered at a restuarant. Looks great Larry. Isn't Marco Island off Florida? Seems like I remember hearing about it when I was at Sanibel Island.

  2. Lea Ann - Marco is the farthest place you can go south along Florida's gulf coast, just below Naples - I'll post about it while I'm here.

  8. Larry, you just seriously rock out the breakfast. I don't think I've ever really had steak and eggs which is a crime.
